A blog about Spanish food--how to cook it, how to eat it, here or there. The focus will be on simple, easy and mostly healthy dishes, with lots of options for vegetarians, vegans, and folks (like me) on low-cholesterol diets.
Check out their Holiday Sale Page for special offers on lots of other Spanish products, including some Spanish ceramics (a great gift idea).
If you don't see anything you like now, you may want to check the site again next week. La Tienda has been having lots of one-day and one-week sales lately.
Pimientos de Padrón are one of my favorite tapas. Nothing could be easier to prepare. You just quick fry them in olive oil and sprinkle them with coarse salt. They taste amazing--like no other pepper--and they're also a lot of fun to eat. See my post on Pimientos de Padrón for more information about this fabulous pepper.
If you live outside of Spain and you want pimientos de Padrón, it's normally necessary to grow them yourself. (I also give some tips about growing pimientos de Padrón in my post.)
The winter sale at the on-line Spanish food store La Tienda ends January 31st--just three days away. While the sale lasts, you can save up to 40% on over 100 hundred products, including pimentón--an essential spice for Spanish cooking. Many, even most of my recipes here at Simple Spanish Food call for pimentón. There is no substitute for it, and most supermarkets don't carry it. So if you don't have it yet, or if you're running low, here's your chance for a good deal on pimentón. (For more information about this spice, see my post on pimentón).
"Save up to 40% on more than 100 products! Enjoy the very best of Spain - at reduced prices. Sale prices valid through 11:59 pm ET January 31, 2011 while supplies last. Not valid for prior purchases."
